Airport Staff Training
Airport operations training conforms to aviation regulations and Interior Ministry instructions for the training of rescue personnel. The airports operate an on-the-job training scheme which is designed to ensure that staff know, understand and can carry out their duties in the manner required by the demands of aviation and occupational safety. Following orientation and occupational guidance sessions that take place at the airport, new recruits undertake basic training courses organized by Avia College. These courses provide basic occupational training for rescue and maintenance tasks.
Note for those interested in working in the airport branch: The Rovaniemi adult vocational training centre, Rovaniemen Ammatillinen Aikuiskoulutuskeskus (RAKK), organizes a 14 month long vocational course for airport staff which is a benefit if you are interested in working in maintenance or rescue services for Finavia. Those who have completed the RAKK training course before entering service with the Finavia do not need to undertake the basic maintenance and rescue courses provided by Avia College. You will find more information on RAKK training at the following link.
