Training for the Air Navigation Branch in Finland
Finnish air traffic services are known for their punctuality and absence of disruption, even though this country has a difficult climate. The importance of training for air transport services is increasing as air transport grows and service demands and forms of service integrate within Europe. Finnish airlines and aviation officials have a long history of professional aviation instruction by international standards. Finavia (formerly CAA Finland) has been training its air traffic controllers since the 1950s. Finnish air traffic controllers have also been successful instructors abroad.
The training provided by Avia College covers the entire spectrum of aviation related services, from basic tuition for the air navigation branch to special training for senior professionals. Avia College also schools technical experts for the industry. The air traffic controllers’ basic course provides a second degree vocational qualification.
International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requirements and operating models set the groundwork for all areas of air navigation training. Avia College aslo carefully follows the European air navigation programme on uniformity and integration.
