ATS airport category changes in 2013
Finavia ATS service production has been improved at Pori and Turku airports by introducing the so called tower radar service based on the ATS traffic control system. The corresponding service change is in progress at Vaasa airport.
The service change enables better take-off and descent profiles and shorter route distances at take-off and landing.
The changes will affect the terminal navigation service charge (TN charge) which is collected at Finavia airports during their operating hours as follows:
- 1.4.2013 Pori moved from airport category ATS 3 to ATS 2
- 1.7.2013 Turku will move from airport category ATS 3 to ATS 2
- In the case of Vaasa airport the estimated date for a change in the service charge is 1.9.2013.
