Security control for transfer passengers arriving from the United States is no longer required
European Commission decision states that the United States meets aviation safety requirements set for third countries.
The Commission's decision facilitates and speeds up the transit process at Helsinki Airport, as passengers on flights arriving from the United States no longer need to pass through security control before making their connecting flights.
Effective 1 April, passengers arriving from New York and Chicago and making connecting flights from Helsinki Airport to destinations in Europe or Finland can go straight to passport control and the departure gate.
