Updated 10.30 pm: The use of airspace restricted in Finland until Tuesday 6 pm
There are no departing or arriving flights to Finavia airports after Tampere-Pirkkala Airport is closing 19.4. at 12 pm. Based on published forecasts the restrictions are valid until Tuesday evening 20.4. 6 pm.
The flight restrictions does not concern flights performed according to visual flight rules below 900 meters, mainly general aviation.
Additional information will be provided on Tuesday 20.4. at 2 pm.
Updated at 6 pm: The flight restrictions are valid again at 8 pm at Helsinki and Turku airports
On Monday 19 April, The volcanic ash plume continues to stay above Finland, so the flight restrictions are valid again at 8 pm at Helsinki airport and Turku airport until further notice.
Only Tampere-Pirkkala airport is open until 12 pm today.
According to Finnish Meteorological Institute the volcanic ash cloud will remain in Finlands airspace for several days.
In case your flight is cancelled, please contact your airline. Airlines ask passenger not to come to the airport.
