Finland's first airport hotel, the Hilton Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, opened its doors on 13 August 2007. The seven storey hotel is located next to the international terminal. There is a covered walkway between the terminals and the hotel, and special constructions will be used to ensure the noise from the airport does not reach the rooms.
The cost estimate for the construction project is around EUR 40 million, which includes the costs of both the property owner and hotel operator.
