Hilton Helsinki-Vantaa Airport

Finland's first airport hotel, the Hilton Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, opened its doors on 13 August 2007. The seven storey hotel is located next to the international terminal. There is a covered walkway between the terminals and the hotel, and special constructions will be used to ensure the noise from the airport does not reach the rooms.

The cost estimate for the construction project is around EUR 40 million, which includes the costs of both the property owner and hotel operator.

Background

The idea for a hotel at the airport came about the first time as early as the 1980s. The planning really got off the ground after the turn of the millennium.

The decision to go with the Hilton hotel was taken because of its internationally recognized brand. For many passengers, the Hilton is a familiar and reliable brand. There are 12 Hilton airport hotels in Europe and over 30 in the rest of the world.
