Finavia's environmental policy

I. Benefitting aviation and society
Finavia operates in a way that does not burden the environment unnecessarily. It seeks to secure the development of aviation by taking environmental concerns into account proactively. Finavia's aim is safe, regular and economic air transport that affects the environment as little as possible.
II. Competence and responsibility
All Finavia employees observe the environmental goals and responsibilities of Finavia when conducting their duties. Finavia will maintain and upgrade the professional skills of their employees so that they can operate in an environmentally responsible way.
III. Reducing the environmental burden
Finavia prevents the adverse environmental impact of its operations or attempts to reduce them to a minimum. Finavia monitors and evaluates the environmental impact of its operations and reports on the monitoring results. Finavia continually develops its operations based on these evaluations to reduce the adverse impacts of its operations.
IV. Environmental management
Finavia employs an environmental management system; monitoring the achievement of environmental goals is a normal part of the system.
V. Active international collaboration
International collaboration is a central way of addressing many of the adverse environmental impacts of aviation. Finavia participates actively in the work of international aviation organisations with the goal of reducing such impacts. Finavia monitors international research in the field and co-operates on environmental issues with foreign airports and aviation organisations.
