Arriving in Finland

After arrival at Helsinki-Vantaa airport from abroad passengers collect their baggage and walk along the customs line to the arriving halls. In case a passenger has goods to declare he/she walks along the red line. Otherwise, passengers may choose the green line. Customs clearance is done by the Finnish customs authorities.

If a passenger arrives from a country outside the Schengen area, the passport control takes place before the baggage is collected. Passport control is the responsibility of the Border Guard.

After arrival at the airport passengers collect checked baggage from the conveyor belts in the baggage delivery hall. Inquiries about lost baggage and connecting flights may be made at the airlines´ service points for arriving passengers. The information booths maintained by the Finavia provide details on public transport, local tourist attractions and hotels.
