How to pass the security check

Before passing through the security inspection it is a good idea to pack all the loose items from your pockets, such as coins, keys, wallets, spectacle cases and mobile phones, into your hand luggage. If you have a pacemaker, please inform the security inspector before inspection.
Place all your hand luggage on the x-ray machine conveyor belt and walk through the metal detector gate. If necessary, the inspector will search your person using a hand-held detection wand or by manual search. Hand luggage may also be taken for special inspection, in which case it will be opened and searched by hand. Random personal inspections of passengers and hand luggage are also carried out. Items removed during security inspection may be left at the airport for destruction or kept there for a fee.
The x-ray machine will not damage photographic film, videocassettes or medicines. However, it is a good idea to carry film in your hand luggage, because some airports around the world may use baggage inspection equipment that may not be entirely safe for film.
Security inspections of cargo hold luggage
If the security inspection indicates grounds to suspect that a suitcase may contain a dangerous substance or article, the case will be opened and examined. Cases are always examined in the presence of two persons. In the first instance, efforts will be made to summon the passenger.
If the owner of the case cannot be reached, the case will be opened in the presence of two security inspectors. A notice will be attached to the case, signed by both inspectors, stating that the case has been opened and that any forbidden object or substance may have been removed.
If the contents of a suitcase cannot be reliably ascertained, the case will not be loaded onto the plane. Any substance or object removed during a security check will be held at the airport for at least one month.
