Finavia develops its mobile services: Helsinki Airport's iPhone app available for download
Air passengers will have better mobile services when Finavia releases its first Apple app.It is an iPhone compatible version of Helsinki Airport's online service. It is now available for free download on App Store or via iTunes.
For several years now, Finavia has given passengers the opportunity to check flight information through an SMS service and a website optimised for mobile devices.
In addition to flight details, the mobile version of the Helsinki Airport
website provides a range of other information and services related to air
travel.
The mobile versions are available at:
- m.finavia.fi
- m.helsinkiairport.fi
- m.helsinki-vantaa.fi
- real-time flight details with departure gate information
- security check queuing time information
- information concerning passport inspection and airport transports
- restaurant and shop guide, the latest special deals of shops
- terminal and parking maps
Mobile services for passengers improved in multiple ways
The speed of Helsinki Airport's wireless network is now 100 Mb, and many recharging units for electronic devices have been added throughout the terminal.
Working at the airport is now more convenient than ever. The three new Suvanto
lounges provide peaceful, private environments in which to conduct business. The
workstations feature visual and hearing cover, power outlets and a desk.
The Suvanto lounges are part of the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 campaign,
and are a cooperative effort by Finavia, UPM, Martela, Fortum, and
Karelia-Upofloor. The lounges are located by Gates 16-17, 26 and 36.
The expansion of mobile services is part of a Finavia initiative to improve the customer experience and satisfaction. The improved services are significant competitive advantages that Helsinki Airport can use to stand out from other airports as it seeks to be the most popular transit airport between Europe and Asia.
