Delay-Free Service

The high standard of airport and air navigation services is evident from the lack of delays in air traffic. The report on delays from the international Eurocontrol organization said that 2.8 % of flights were delayed in Finnish air space in 2003 for air traffic control reasons (2.9 % in 2002). The corresponding proportion in the rest of Europe was 9.5 % (11.0 % in 2002).

The delays caused by air traffic control in Finland are almost entirely a reflection of services elsewhere in Europe, since only 0.20 % of flights were delayed by Finnish air traffic control (0.14 % in 2002).
