Third Runway is Venture of the Year

Vantaa town junior chamber of commerce voted Helsinki- Vantaa Airport’s third runway as Vantaa’s venture of the year for 2003. The award is given to individuals or enterprises that improve the town.

The choice was based on the benefits of the new runway, which should ensure the airport is serviceable for decades to come, providing air traffic control that gives the least possible disturbance. In addition it has clarified the issue of land use in Vantaa whilst offering much work and income for builders as well as thousands of people in Vantaa, either directly or indirectly through aviation related services.
