Turku is Airport of the Year

The CAA nominated Turku as Airport of the Year for 2003. The choice was based on an air passenger survey and a poll of staff satisfaction. The survey took account of overall comfort at the airport, its information signs, fluidity of security checks and the service attitude of the staff. And the staff were asked to assess their work climate and the work of their superiors. The financial performance of the airport over the year also affected the choice.

“Being Airport of the Year has aroused a lot of positive attention in our region,” grins Turku Airport manager, Antero Mero. “I am especially pleased that our staff’s efforts to improve customer service have been noticed. Our staff enjoy working at the airport and I believe this is also evident to our customers.”
