Annual report of the CAA 2003

Turku’s New Cargo Terminal

The CAA owned subsidiary, Kiinteistö Oy Turun lentorahti has built a new cargo terminal for Turku Airport as part of the Pilot Turku project, primarily aimed at improving Turku’s logistical capabilities.

The terminal has been rented entirely by TNT Suomi Oy, which thus extends its successful operational concept at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to Turku. The terminal opened for service in October 2003.

“Cargo traffic may well grow to form the focus of Turku Airport’s operations. On the other hand, expanding freight traffic will also bring in more air passengers. We have improved our service capacity by building the freight terminal for TNT,” comments airport manager, Antero Mero.
