In the autumn of 2003, the CAA instituted training for
a special management grade examination called JET, the first
of its calibre within the CAA. The aim of the training was
to provide the student with an overall picture of the company’s
strategic planning and the way plans are carried out within
their own organisation. At the same time, participants honed
their cooperation and middle management capabilities as
well as their social skills and ability to make quick decisions.
The content and implementation of the training was designed
to conform with National Board of Vocational Education examination
standards as an apprenticeship course arranged in conjunction
with the Vantaa municipal apprenticeship office and the
Häme vocational college. The course lasted for about
a year and a half as planned, finishing in December 2004.
Similar education will continue as part of the development
of the CAA’s management system, with the next JET
management course scheduled to begin in autumn 2005.
