THE OUTLOOK FOR 2005
The change in the domestic air traffic trend that occurred
at the end of 2004 poses a challenge for the CAA in 2005.
The CAA has made its calculations for 2005 on the basis of
a 3 % growth in passenger numbers. International commercial
aviation operations are estimated to expand by 3 %, whereas
a slight downturn is expected in domestic traffic.
If air traffic is able to grow without any major international
crises the CAA’s business profit should improve by roughly
the same amount as the one-time costs that encumbered the
result for 2004, and should reach the 19.1 million euro profit
target set for the organisation for 2005. There are no plans
to raise charges. Achievement of this profit target will safeguard
the financing for the healthy maintenance and development
of the aviation infrastructure.
