IMPROVEMENTS IN MANAGEMENT

One of the main areas of focus in the CAA’s personnel strategy is the creation of a consistent set of management practices. One of the cornerstones in management development has been the drawing up of a curriculum for managers which pulls together all the training that they must undergo. We have also improved the opportunities for learning management skills over the Internet.

The management curriculum combines specific instruction with general training, with tuition sessions tailored to suit the different levels of management. An Internet course in management behaviour forms the basis of the curriculum. Development programmes in management behaviour and operational management have been drawn up for middle and labour managers. So-called JET training, which is provided under apprenticeship, is mainly intended for middle management and above and for those with managerial experience. In addition to these types of training, managers have access to such things as managers’ forums, seminars and training sessions for specific branches.
