CHANGES TO THE BOARD

The Civil Aviation Administration’s long standing Director General, Mikko Talvitie, died in a car accident in March 2005. The Council of State appointed Samuli Haapasalo to be the new Director General from July 1st 2005.

Jussi Järventaus (Board Chairman), Pekka Hurtola (Vice Chairman), Mona Björklund, Eeva Niskavaara, Matti Puhakka and Sami Fabritius (personnel representative) remained on the Board until the end of 2005.

On December 29th the Council of State set the new Board term to run from 2006 to 2008. Previous Board members Jussi Järventaus (Board Chairman), Mona Björklund and Eeva Niskavaara, will continue. The new Board members are Hannu Seristö, Sinikka Mönkäre, Leena Kostiander and personnel representative Heikki Vaalgamaa.

The CAA’s auditors for 2005 were KHT Jorma Tuominen of Deloitte & Touche Oy and JHTT Seppo Akselinmäki of the State Audit Office.
