We are making major efforts in the rest of the country, too. We want to meet the demands of tourism in both eastern and northern Finland. If 500 planeloads of charter passengers are willing to come and see Father Christmas, how many more can we entice to adventure in the Finnish wilds – to the benefit of local business? We expect the industry to be skilled in marketing tours at the tourist source as well as in providing exciting journeys. Our infrastructure and services are at their disposal.
We can achieve our service targets as long as our business processes are in good shape and if we can generate profits. We were financially sound in 2005 and we also expect a good profit for the new year. Demand remains stable and we are maintaining our cost effectiveness. Our profit target for 2005 was 19 million euros, which we clearly exceeded with a result of about 22.2 million euros. This kind of sum also means a financially sustainable long-term investment ability. However, the level of investment for the next few years will be greater than our immediate cash fl ow financing. But we want to meet our customer needs full-on.
Our surveys show that job satisfaction has improved. In my tours of the airports I have been able to witness just how capable and dedicated our personnel are. They deserve our heartfelt thanks for their efforts!
Yet I believe that coping at work, good management, job enjoyment, job improvement and cooperation are matters for which we must strive incessantly. This we must do together. Only a happy and robust workforce can generate the kind of power we need to accomplish our mission.
