WORKING WITH TALLINN AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL
The CAA is developing its cooperation with Estonia’s air navigation provider, the Estonian ANS company. In practice this means that air traffic heading for Finland from the south is already coordinated in Estonian airspace, in order to make landings at Helsinki-Vantaa as smooth as possible. Such cooperation also reduces aircraft fuel consumption and emissions.
The CAA has provided training for Tallinn’s air traffi c controllers and is offering air traffic equipment and a computer program for determining the order of aircraft approach for their use.
The arrangement was in line with the principles of the EU Single European Sky regulation, which stresses more effective air traffic procedures regardless of national boundaries.
