Train from the Airport to Helsinki
I and P trains serve the Ring Rail Line between the Airport and Helsinki city centre. The timetables, routes and ticket prices can be found on the HSL website. Please notice that you need a ticket to the ABC zone for travelling between the Airport and Helsinki city centre.
The tickets for the commuter trains can be bought at the airport from:
- HSL ticket machines located at the bus terminal and on the railway station platform.
- Alepa Grocery store(T2 Arrival lobby 2B)
- WH Smith (T1 Departure lobby)
- WH Smith(T2 Departure lobby)
- R-kiosk(T2 Arrival lobby 2A)
- Tourist information (T2 Arrival lobby 2A)

Train from Helsinki to the Airport
I and P trains serve the Ring Rail Line between the Airport and Helsinki city centre. I trains mainly depart from platforms 1 to 3, and P trains mainly from platforms 16 to 18 at Helsinki Central Railway Station.The timetables, routes and ticket prices can be found on the HSL website. Please notice that you need a ticket to the ABC zone for travelling between Helsinki city centre and the Airport.
You can buy tickets to I and P trains from

- HSL Service Point at the railway station
If you are travelling on a long-distance train, you can buy a ticket directly to Helsinki Airport. When booking a long-distance ticket please choose ‘Helsinki Airport’ as your destination.

The entrance to the Airport railway station is located on the arrivals’ floor at the corridor between T1 and T2. To enter the platforms, please use the lifts next to the railway station entrance with any large baggage.

Long-distance train connections
Additional information for the long-distance train connections can be found on the VR website. The train tickets for long-distance traffic can be bought online or from the VR ticket machine located on the railway station platform. When buying a long-distance ticket, please choose ‘Helsinki Airport’ as your departure station.
Allegro train from St. Petersburg to Helsinki Airport
Helsinki Airport can be quickly reached from Russia with the Allegro train. The service connects the city centres of Helsinki and St. Petersburg with a journey less than 3.5 hours. The Allegro service operates on new and comfortable high-speed trains, and the border formalities between Finland and Russia are conveniently taken care of onboard the train.
The passengers heading directly to Helsinki Airport can easily transfer to the I train at Tikkurila station, which is only a very short ride away from the airport. When booking your ticket, please note that even if your destination is officially Helsinki, your ticket is valid in the commuter train from Tikkurila to Helsinki Airport for a certain time period.Read more about the Allegro and book your tickets here.
