The range of routes at Helsinki Airport is now even more extensive as Blue Air started direct scheduled flights between Helsinki Airport and Bucharest on June 16.

The flights will be operated three times a week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The new route from Helsinki to Romania is operated year-round.

“We are very happy to have this new destination at Helsinki Airport. There has been an influx of direct routes from Finland, which means Finns have extraordinary connections to the rest of the world. We wish to extend Blue Air the warmest of welcomes to Finland and to Helsinki Airport, bolstering our status as an air traffic hub further,” says Ville Haapasaari Director of Helsinki Airport at Finavia, the Finnish airport operator.

The new route facilitates further connections from Bucharest towards Tel Aviv, Larnaca and several Italian destinations.

“We are elated to introduce Helsinki, an economic powerhouse that supports a mix of both business and leisure traffic, to our faster growing Bucharest network. In fact, we share this excitement with Romanians living in the Finnish capital, who may now come home to their families more often, but also with Finnish travelers who aim to explore the vibe of Bucharest, a fun, hip, green city. This is an important step in strengthening our position within the Nordic block. Lastly, this route will facilitate further connections towards Tel Avi, Larnaca and several Italian destinations via our Bucharest hub”, says Vlad Cristescu, Senior Network Development Executive at Blue Air.
