Finavia keeps on giving good news to air passengers as Air Baltic starts direct flights from Tampere to Riga. The route to the magnificent capital of Latvia will be flown on six days a week starting from March.

"We wish Air Baltic warmly welcome to Tampere. We are highly satisfied to have a new route to serve passengers in the Pirkanmaa region. Now, Tampere offers exceptionally good connections, considering the size of the region in terms of population, as it is connected to different parts of the world via three different transit airports,” says Mari Nurminen, Area director, Tampere Airport Manager

“Having a direct connection to an attractive urban destination and Central Europe is important considering the reach of the region, and I believe that this will also raise interest in new connections. This new route is the result of productive cooperation with other tourism operators in the region,” Nurminen says.

The new route brings a strong network of flight connection within the reach of business and holiday travellers in the Tampere region as passengers can now utilise the transit connections offered by Riga. Until now, a number of destinations have been available from Tampere via Helsinki and Stockholm. Through Air Baltic, the range of connections increases, placing the most popular European cities and various holiday destinations in the Mediterranean available.

Air Baltic will start flights from Tampere to Riga on 26 March 2017. The route will be flown on six days a week with a 76-seater Q400.

Tickets are available on the Air Baltic website at www.airbaltic.com from 4 October 2016.
