The expansion work in terminal 2 has changed the traffic arrangements at Helsinki Airport and narrowed traffic lanes. Here, you can find information about what to do when dropping off or picking up passengers at the airport.

Dropping passengers off at the airport

When dropping passengers off at terminal 1 or terminal 2, you can only briefly stop in front of the terminal in order for the passengers to step out of the car. The traffic lanes in front of terminal 2 have been narrowed. This means that there is less space than before. Do not be afraid to drive forwards along the ramp to reach the parking area.

Parking in front of the main doors of the terminals is not permitted. If you wish to accompany the passengers into the terminal, please use the short-term parking area in P3.

Picking up passengers and other brief visits

If you pick passengers up from Helsinki Airport or visit briefly for other reasons, please use the short-term parking area in P3.

There is short-term parking in front of terminal 1. There is a covered walking passage to terminal 1, from where you can also reach terminal 2 through a corridor. The distance to terminal 2 is approximately 400 metres.

Free short-term parking in February

In February, Finavia offers one hour of free parking in the short-term parking area. Normally, parking in the short-term parking area costs EUR 1/10 minutes.

If you park for less than 10 minutes you can leave without paying a fee.
