The opening of the west pier at Helsinki Airport will further add to the airport’s wide selection of restaurants. The first Jamie’s Deli in Finland and Moomin Coffee — the world’s first Moomin-themed airport café — opened on Monday, 13 May.

Jamie’s Deli at Helsinki Airport is Finland’s first restaurant under the deli brand created by the world-renowned chef Jamie Oliver. The menu at Jamie’s Deli includes hot breakfast, freshly made sandwiches, artisan pizza, fresh salads, snacks and much more. The ingredients selected by Jamie and his team are always fresh, seasonal and as ethically produced as possible.

“The new west pier restaurants provide our passengers with even more options for enjoying a delicious meal before flying. We have developed our restaurant and café offering in response to our customers’ needs and wishes. With the introduction of Jamie’s Deli and Moomin Coffee, the airport now has a broader selection of international flavours and healthy foods. Both of the new restaurants are also very attractively designed. We believe they will make passengers even more comfortable during the hours they spend with us at Helsinki Airport,” says Finavia Vice President Nora Immonen, Director of Commercial Services at Helsinki Airport.

Jamie Oliver is a laid-back and affable chef who rose to prominence on TV and whose uncompromising approach to food quality and sustainability is evident in the new restaurant.

“The Jamie’s Deli menu consists of meals based on fresh and ethically produced ingredients and prepared at the deli. Special attention is paid to every meal and each individual ingredient. We are pleased to again introduce a new restaurant to Finland, with Helsinki Airport as the first location,” says Pia Jormanainen, Managing Director of SSP Finland, the company that operates Jamie’s Deli and Moomin Coffee.

Moomin Coffee, for its part, brings a piece of the adorable world of Moomins to Helsinki Airport. Moomin Coffee serves a selection of sandwiches, Moominmamma’s pancakes as well as delicious ice cream desserts, milkshakes, smoothie bowls, salads and much more. The bright and colourful decor of Moomin Coffee is designed specifically for Moomin fans and families with children.

“Moomin Coffee is the world’s first Moomin-themed café at an airport. Helsinki Airport is a natural location for Moomin Coffee, since Moomins are a big hit among Japanese passengers in particular. Of course, there are Moomin fans all over the world, and we welcome all passengers, regardless of their age, to Moomin Coffee,” Pia Jormanainen continues.

Jamie’s Deli and Moomin Coffee are located next to each other near gate 40.
