Early this year, the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom invited tenders for regular scheduled flights to five regional centres: Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Kajaani, Kemi and Kokkola. Flights will start in May.

In early 2021, Traficom invited tenders for regular scheduled flights from Helsinki to the airports in Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Kajaani, Kemi and Kokkola. During the negotiations, the following start dates for air traffic to the five regional centres were agreed on with the operators of the flights:

  • Joensuu–Helsinki: 10 May, operator: Amapola AB
  • Jyväskylä–Helsinki: 17 May, operator: NyxAir OÜ
  • Kajaani–Helsinki: 24 May, operator: DAT LT, UAB
  • Kemi–Kokkola–Helsinki triangle route: 10 May, operator: NyxAir OÜ

On 14 April, Traficom amended its earlier decision on the Kajaani route (In Finnish).
