Route network from Turku is further expanding – Wizz Air opens route to Skopje, Macedonia

Wizz Air launches a direct route from Turku to Skopje, Macedonia. The route will be opened on July 31st, 2019.

The route is operated on Wednesdays and Sundays with Airbus 320-200 aircraft.

- The new route is a good continuation of Wizz Air's previous releases. Turku's accessibility is growing again and we are looking forward to this year's route openings, says Jani Jolkkonen, Director of Airport Networks at Finavia.

- We want to bring more interesting opportunities to our customers while diversifying our Finnish network. Three new routes will be opened in Turku this year, says Andras Rado, Communications Manager at Wizz Air.

- It is really remarkable and great that Wizz Air will continue to invest in the diversification of the Turku area. By the summer, the route selection will be so comprehensive that every traveler from the Turku region will definitely need to check the route options offered by Turku before leaving, says Minna Arve, Mayor of Turku.

Wizz Air started operations in Turku in 2008 and has already carried over 850,000 passengers. Wizz Air has significantly increased its route network from Turku. In December, the company announced the opening of a direct route from Turku to Luton Airport, London. In November, Wizz Air opened the route to Kaunas in Lithuania and the airline has announced that it will also start operations to Krakow in Poland in May 2019.
