On 8 November 2021, the United States opened its borders to fully vaccinated leisure travellers. The country’s borders had been closed to arrivals from many countries since spring 2020.

Travellers flying to the United States must provide proof of vaccination and a recent negative COVID-19 test. Travellers are no longer required to go into quarantine upon entering the country.

Currently, it is possible to travel from Finland to the United States from Helsinki Airport, with flights to four different US destinations. Finnair flies to New York seven times a week, and to Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami three times a week.
