Lufthansa: The art of selling air tickets

Lufthansa are opening an art gallery in Berlin exclusively for travelers from Finland, in order to put Berlin on the map and offer customers an inspiring and different kind of ticket.

The exclusive online web shop galleryhelsinkiberlin.com features 6 pieces of art from a number of young, Berlin-based artists. Bundled with the paintings, Lufthansa sold round-trip flights from Helsinki to Berlin.

Something that is quite handy considering that the painting had to be picked up in Berlin.

"At Lufthansa we are of course always looking for new ways to inspire people to travel. Through this event, we highlight one of the many exciting aspects of Berlin. Namely, the art scene, " says Magnus Engvall at Lufthansa

On 2nd September visitors can browse through the works and then buy their favorite with a few simple clicks. Return flight/art package cost 199€. The website features up- and coming artists such as Caroline Kryzecki and duo Stefan Guzy and Björn Wieden.

The works can be found on the gallery Essays & Observations on Maxstrasse 1. Although Berliners are welcome visit the gallery the paintings are reserved for Finnish travelers only.

"The campaign consists of web gallery and an exposition in a gallery in Berlin but sells its pieces of art exclusively to people flying from Finland. It's a little different angle of course, "says Magnus Engvall.

The gallery opens 2nd September and this bargain packages were based on "first come first served". During the campaign period tickets are offered as usual on Lufthansa site - direct flights between Helsinki – Berlin from 99 €.
