CNN: Saariselkä's Northern Lights make 2014 dream destination list

CNN Travel has published the top ten dream destinations for 2014 on its website. One of them is Hotel Kakslauttanen, located in Saariselkä in Finnish Lapland. The hotel's glass igloos provide a great view of the magnificent Northern Lights.

According to the online news site, you can marvel at the wonderful Northern Lights from your bed at this hotel inside the Arctic Circle. In bright weather, the views from the glass igloos provide an incredible nature show. The igloo is made of glass, and CNN amusingly points out that this kind of accommodation does not offer much privacy.

Northern Lights only one hour from Helsinki

You can quickly and easily travel to Saariselkä by air. In winter, Finnair and Norwegian provide connections from Helsinki to Ivalo Airport. There are several flights per day. The flight from Helsinki to Ivalo takes about an hour.

Other dream destinations that made the top ten are located e.g. in Kenya, Italy and Switzerland.
