The famous and popular Opera Festival will once again take place in Savolinna on 4 July – 2 August. The smoothest way to the event is by air, and it only takes less than an hour from Helsinki.

Are you interested in opera, but not in long drives? No worries, because Flybe can take you quickly and comfortably to the opera city.

The duration of the flight from Helsinki to Savonlinna is about 55 minutes and the fares start from 35 Euros.

The highlight of this year’s festival is the rave-reviewed masterpiece “Kullervo”, which is based on the Finnish national Epic Kalevala. The piece tells the dramatic story of Kullervo’s desire for revenge. The fate of this luckless character is further enflamed by his relationship with a woman who turns out to be his sister.
