Travelling from Saint Petersburg to the world via Helsinki Airport and the other way around is soon possible with a combined air-and-rail ticket.

Passengers travelling between Saint Petersburg and international destinations of Finnair can soon combine their flight with a high-speed Allegro train.

Passengers travelling with a combined ticket are offered two daily train connections from Saint Petersburg to Helsinki and from Helsinki to Saint Petersburg.

The trip between Helsinki’s Central Railway Station and Saint Petersburg’s Finland Station takes 3 hours and 36 minutes. Passport and customs procedures are carried out on board the train while en route.

The minimum connecting time for passengers making an intermodal transfer is currently 2 hours and 45 minutes. The combined ticket enables the passengers also a stop at Helsinki.

The air and ground traffic arrangements of Helsinki Airport develop continuously. The train connection arriving to the airport from Helsinki city center during summer 2015 improves connections between the airport and Allegro-train even further.

Air-and-rail tickets can be bought from 1 October 2014 on. The first Allegro train connection with AY code will be on 1 December 2014.
