Having a cup of coffee is the most Finnish thing you can do at Helsinki Airport. The keenest coffee-drinkers in the world, the Finns drink an astounding 5.7 cups of coffee per day, on average. That’s more than twice as much as in Belgium, Canada or France. Having a nice cup of coffee is a very Finnish thing and an essential part of nearly all everyday activities. So why not have a cup, while you wait for your flight?
As a part of the TravelLab project, Finavia is bringing this invigorating Finnish ritual to Helsinki Airport passengers, directly to the gate. In Gate Roastery, Finnish quality coffee from Helsinki-based Kaffa Roastery is brought to passengers waiting for their flights at the gate area. They will have the opportunity to buy a freshly brewed cup or a souvenir of Kaffa products to be enjoyed at home.
Our TravelLab technicians will be zooming around the airport with sleek and classy Finnish-made Pelago bicycles.
Apart from enjoying a refreshing cup of coffee, the participants will get to share their opinions on the service. Gate Roastery is a part of Finavia’s innovative TravelLab project, which brings prototypes of possible new services for the passengers to test.
Gate Roastery will be operating on selected dates in June:
- 13.6. from 2 pm to 5 pm
