Catch a direct flight from Helsinki Airport to Chicago

You can now fly directly to Chicago from Helsinki Airport, as Finnair opened a direct route between the two cities for the summer.

The route was opened on 13 June and it will be operated three times a week until 17 October. The departures from Helsinki Airport take place on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

The route opening was celebrated at Helsinki Airport with the cabin crew and passengers of the first flight, as well as Pekka Vauramo, the CEO of Finnair and Ville Haapasaari, the Director of Helsinki Airport.

After the music performances and speeches, the flight AY009 took off towards Chacago O’Hare. Each passenger also received a gift from the cabin crew.

Chicago has a lot to offer

Chicago is the third largest city in the USA. The city is familiar from several TV shows and movies, and offers a variety of activities for visitors. The city is famous for its skyscrapers, sports teams and shopping possibilities among others.

Chicago also has good connections to all over North America.

Before the route between Helsinki Airport and Chicago was operated by American Airlines.

  • Helsinki 5:25 pm – Chicago 6:40 pm
  • Chicago 10 pm – Helsinki 2:50 pm
