The hotel price comparison site Trivago has listed six magnificent hotels that have been made of snow and ice. Staying at these hotels is an experience that you will reminisce over for a long time.

Cold weather and snow get many Finns to pack their bags and fly south away from the cold winter to spend a moment in the sun. However, there are those who enjoy the intimate winter nights and white, shiny snow. Even to the extent that they want to sleep surrounded by snow and ice! Take a look at six freezingly gorgeous hotels, and pick your favourite.

Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos (Rovaniemi, Finland)

Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos is a genuine winter wonderland in Lehtojärvi, in Rovaniemi. The hotel consists of several buildings made of snow and ice. The area includes the Arctic SnowHotel, Icerestaurant, Icebar, and a unique snow sauna. Moreover, a traveller looking for new experiences can stay at an Arctic Glass Igloo. While lying in bed, you can admire the glittering night sky or the northern lights through the glass ceiling. Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos offers the guests an optional northern lights “Aurora alarm” service. With the service, the guests have a better chance of witnessing this stunning phenomenon.

SnowVillage (Kittilä, Finland)

SnowVillage and its snow hotel is situated in Kittilä. This hotel that transforms itself every winter offers Standard Snow Rooms and individually decorated Snow Suites. The rooms are decorated with beautifully illuminated ice details. The thick snow walls keep the noise of the outside world away, ensuring peaceful sleep in a magical atmosphere. ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi, in northern Sweden, is the world's first hotel that was made of snow and ice. The hotel caters for many tastes. The guest can choose between the simple Snow Rooms, the Ice Rooms where the furniture is made of ice, the unique Art Suites, or the luxurious Deluxe Suite. The hotel also offers the Northern Lights Room where you can watch the northern lights through the glass ceiling. Several artists take part in building the ICEHOTEL every year. The hotel is different every year, and staying there is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Hôtel de Glace (Québec, Canada)

Hôtel de Glace in Québec, Canada, is a spectacular sight with its huge snow vaults and crystalline ice sculptures. The hotel has 44 rooms and theme suites. The theme suites are decorated with sculptures made of ice or snow and artistic lightning. The premium theme suites come with a fireplace. The most demanding guests can choose the premium deluxe theme suite with fireplace and private spa. Hôtel de Glace also offers all the overnight guests access to the Nordic relaxation area with its outdoor spas and sauna, which enable relaxation in a peaceful environment under the stars.

Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel (Alta, Norway)

Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel is built for the 16th time this winter in Alta, in the northernmost Norway. The hotel is made of ice and snow, both indoors and outdoors. Countless ice sculptures that resemble works of art create a magical atmosphere. The hotel has 30 double or triple rooms and suites. Additionally, the hotel has an ice bar where you can enjoy your drink in a glass made of ice. Iglu Village Kühtai (Kühtai, Austria)

Iglu Village Kühtai is located in Kühtai, in the Austrian Alps, only 35 kilometres from Innsbruck. Kühtai is situated at an altitude of about 2,020 meters, and it is Austria's highest winter sport resort. Just as the name indicates, Iglu Village is a village of 12 igloos that are equipped for an overnight stay. The hotel offers both igloos for 4 to 6 people and romantic igloos for 2 people. Dinner is served at a separate igloo restaurant. Moreover, Iglu Village arranges all kinds of activities for the guests. For example, have you ever tried Frisbee at midnight, soccer during full moon, or snow golf?
