- Finnish fashion, design and art are important to Finavia. Also known as an artport, Helsinki Airport is constantly portayring the works of upcoming Finnish artists. At the moment there is a joint photography exhibition by Finnish photographers Karoliina Veijo, Johanna Sandin and Emilia Heiskanen, at the gate area, Marketing Director Katja Siberg from Finavia says.
On Tuesday 24 May the heads of the world’s fashion people turned to Helsinki Airport, as Finavia’s and Finnair’s Match Made in HEL – The Runway Fashion Show took place at the airport’s runway 2. The event brought almost hundred fashion editors, bloggers and opinion leaders to Helsinki Airport all around the world.
On Wednesday 25 May the guests got to meet the Finnish fashion designers of the future at Näytös 16, the annual student fashion show by the School of Arts, Design and Architecture.
- Match Made in HEL is a perfect way to promote not only Helsinki Airport and its smooth connections, but also Finland as a travel destination, Helsinki as an urban city destination and Finnish fashion and design. I feel proud to be representing young Finnish talents to our international guests and supporting young Finnish designers, Siberg says.
The price awarded is worth 1500 euro and the winner was chosen by the seven Match Made in HEL designers.
Näytös 16 is the annual student fashion show by the School of Arts, Design and Architecture. It presents graduate collections from both BA and MA degree students. The show attracts an audience of over one thousand people every year, including the most influential Finnish and international professionals and media representatives, and renowned fashion publications, representatives of fashion houses and talent scouts.
Match Made in HEL is a joint campaign by Finavia and Finnair. It aims to increase the international awareness of Helsinki Airport and Finnair and represent the smooth connections between Europe and Asia.
