The Helsinki base of the Air Patrol Squadron of the Finnish Border Guard will move in to new facilities completed at Helsinki Airport in February 2017.

For operational deployment, rescue helicopter crews will train the deployment of the new base and examine flight routes around Helsinki Airport in January and February.

According to the Finnish Border Guard, all training flights will be performed during the day. Because the flights will be performed alongside regular flight operations, exact dates and times are unknown.

The new base is located in Tullimiehentie, Vantaa. The Finnish Border Guard will provide local residents with an opportunity to visit the helicopter base and take a look at its flight operations later in spring.
