The stunning new south wing will introduce more space and new departure gates to Helsinki Airport. The test passengers try out the terminal expansion facilities before they are opened.

The stunning new south wing, the first terminal expansion of the Helsinki Airport Development Programme, is due to be opened later this summer. The airport is expanding under one roof, retaining its strengths, such as short distances and easily accessible services.

For the first time in Helsinki Airport’s history, Finavia is organising a test event, which is part of the process leading to opening the south wing. The event offers 200 volunteer test passengers an opportunity to see and try out the terminal expansion facilities before everyone else.

Any problems identified during the test event will be resolved before the south wing is opened. After that, the terminal expansion will be ready to open its doors.

Watch the video to have a sneak peek at the south wing construction site and to hear Finavia’s Maintenance Manager Pyry Pennanen tell what the test event is all about!
