Traficom: Decision made on the tendering process for scheduled flights to Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Kemi, Kokkola and Kajaani

The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom announced 26th of March 2021 that it has made the decision on purchased regional air traffic services. The tendering process included the regular scheduled flights from Helsinki to Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Kajaani, Kemi and Kokkola.

In its media release, the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom says that the State of Finland has granted an EUR 11.5 million appropriation for safeguarding flight connections to five towns: Joensuu, Jyväskylä, Kajaani, Kemi and Kokkola. The winners of the tendering process are:

  • Joensuu–Helsinki: the Swedish airline Amapola Flyg AB
  • Jyväskylä–Helsinki and Kemi–Kokkola–Helsinki: the Estonian airline NyxAir OÜ
  • Kajaani–Helsinki: the Latvian airline A/S "Raf-Avia"

Traficom will agree with the winners on the start dates of flights, taking into account the COVID-19 pandemic and the needs of the regions.
