– The direct connection to Riga offers travelers departing from Oulu a wide range of onward connections from Riga Airport to other parts of Europe. Operating five times a week, the route also plays a significant role in bringing tourists to Oulu and its surrounding areas—especially now, as Oulu garners international interest as European Capital of Culture 2026. We at Finavia are continuously working to improve Finland’s accessibility, and we are delighted about Air Baltic’s new initiative, says Petri Vuori, Senior Vice President of Sales and Route Development at Finavia.
Flights will operate five times a week—on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays—from March 29 until the end of October 2026. The route will be served by a 148-seat Airbus A220-300 aircraft.
The new route opens up diverse onward flight options from Riga Airport to Europe and the Middle East for passengers departing from Oulu. From a business perspective, the connection offers new opportunities for companies in Oulu and the surrounding region. The route also supports inbound tourism to Finland, particularly enhancing accessibility to Northern Finland.
In addition to Oulu Airport, Air Baltic also operates scheduled flights from Tampere, Turku and Helsinki Airport.
