“We are delighted that SAS is opening a new route between Copenhagen and Turku. This new connection strengthens Turku’s international connections and offers passengers diverse connections through Copenhagen Airport to different parts of Europe and the United States,” says Petri Vuori, Finavia’s Senior Vice President responsible for route development.
SAS will initially operate the Turku−Copenhagen route four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. From 21 May 2025, the route will be operated every weekday. The route will have a summer break from Midsummer until the beginning of August, after which flights will continue on weekdays until the end of the summer season.
The first flight was met on 1 April 2025 by representatives of Finavia and the airline as well as representatives from Turku and Southwest Finland. At the opening event at Turku Airport, speeches were held by Turku Mayor Minna Arve, Finavia's Senior Vice President responsible for route development Petri Vuori, Regional Major of Southwest Finland Jyri Arponen, Visit Turku Archipelago Oy’s CEO Kristiina Kukkohovi and SAS’s Head of Strategic Contracting Niko Ek. First-flight passengers were treated to coffee and cake at the departure gate.

Finavia actively cooperates with the City of Turku and Visit Turku Archipelago to develop Turku’s accessibility. In addition to Copenhagen, there are direct scheduled flights from Turku Airport to Gdansk, Mariehamn, Riga and Stockholm, the last of which is also flown by SAS.
SAS has also announced that it will increase its flights from Helsinki Airport to Copenhagen next summer. Detailed flight schedules and tickets are available on SAS's website.
