“Helsinki Airport is a strategically important international hub for Finland, and this recognition shows that our passengers experience our airport as smooth, welcoming and high-quality also in international comparison,” says Laura Inttilä, Senior Vice President, Helsinki Airport, who started in her role in early February 2026.
Continuous development across the entire passenger journey
The 2025 ASQ results show that passengers increasingly value cleanliness, clarity and friendly, approachable service as part of a comprehensive travel experience.
In recent years, Helsinki Airport’s terminal and services have undergone extensive renewal: the departure hall, security control, retail and restaurant services, arrivals hall, parking facilities and travel centre have all seen significant improvements. The digital customer experience has been enhanced through services such as myFlight, which provides passengers with personalised tips for navigating the airport. In addition, a security waiting time forecast is used to improve the smoothness of the passenger journey.
“The next step is to further strengthen our airport operations through data-driven management and by leveraging new technologies. This means increasingly proactive services, real-time situational awareness and solutions that make travelling even smoother,” Inttilä continues.
Broad recognition from passengers
The ASQ award is based on continuous measurement of customer satisfaction and service quality. Air passengers evaluate around 30 service categories at different stages of their journey, including wayfinding, customer service, check-in as well as shopping and dining opportunities.
Helsinki Airport is one of the few airports to have been selected as an ASQ award winner several times consecutively, reflecting the long-term development of its service level and the trust of its passengers. Helsinki Airport has won the ASQ award in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023, 2024 and now for 2025.
Last year, Helsinki Airport was also recognised as the Best Airport in Northern Europe in the Skytrax service survey. In addition, Helsinki Airport was selected as Commercial Space of the Year 2025 in Finland in its category, highlighting the airport’s significance as a business environment for both passengers and companies.
“My sincere thanks go to the entire airport community. A world-class customer experience is built together – the contribution of everyone working at the airport is crucial,” Inttilä concludes.
