For the second time, Teleforum and the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries selected the best Finnish mobile services. In its category, Finavia was named the best public sector operator which uses mobile services.

The national Best Mobile Service 2013 competition included more than one hundred nominees in 13 categories, such as business, entertainment and corporate services. Finavia received the award for its Airport smartphone app.

"This should be duplicated at all international airports," said the jury.

The winning Helsinki Airport app is available in Finnish and English for iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices. The app is also very popular among users.

Chair of the jury Pia Viitanen, Minister of Housing and Communications, says that future success of Finland will be more and more extensively based on service production, and digital services are an important part of that development.

The Math Elements learning game for children was assessed as the service with the largest international potential, and it was granted the main prize in the Best Mobile Service 2013 competition.

In the last couple of years, Finavia has invested heavily in the mobile accessibility of its online services. In late August, Finavia introduced a new website which utilises responsive design. The website can be accessed with desktop computers, tablets and smartphones.

Finavia has also received an award for being the airport that makes best use of social media. Last year, Helsinki Airport won first prize in the international Best Airport in Social Media competition.
