The Polish Eurolot.com airline will commence route flights from Gdansk to Helsinki. The company's first flight will arrive at Helsinki Airport on 31 March 2014.

"Gdansk is an important city for Finnish business and also an interesting travel destination. "We are happy that the important flight connection from Helsinki to the largest port city of Poland is now re-opened, after a few-year break," says airport director Ville Haapasaari at Finavia.

According to Haapasaari, a new airline entering the Finnish market is always a positive thing and promotes the connections of Finns to the world. From Gdansk flights, there are also are excellent connections to 12 Asian destinations, which also supports the position of Helsinki Airport as the leading transit airport in North Europe.

"At Helsinki Airport, we will today reach the all-time record as the passenger volume exceeds 15 million.

Eurolot flies to Helsinki four times a week with Bombardier Q400 NextGen aircraft. Flight tickets will be available for sale on the company's website at www.eurolot.com

Eurolot was founded in 1996 to operate the flights of the national LOT airline. Since 2011, the company first worked independently as the operator for domestic flights, and since 2012, it has also provided foreign flights to European destinations. As of January 2013, Eurolot has transported more than 160,000 passengers to 20 different destinations.
