The airline SunExpress will introduce a new route from Helsinki Airport to Izmir in Turkey. Flights will commence in May 2014 to Adnan Menderes Airport.

The Izmir route of SunExpress will provide Finns with a new way of travelling to sunny, mythic Turkey. Izmir, located by the turquoise Aegean Sea, is the third-largest city in Turkey.

Izmir is an excellent choice for a city holiday. It provides excellent opportunities for shoppers and travellers who enjoy cultural activities. In addition, the fabulous beaches of Çeşme and Kuşadas are located right next to Izmir.

On the busy beach boulevards, you will see the genuine Turkish way of life. The city is also known for the Kadefikale ruins, located on the historic Agora and Pagos mountains. The famous classical cities of Pergamon and Ephesus are also located nearby.

The Adnan Menderes also has good connections to other Turkish resorts, such as the Greek archipelago: Samos and Chios, for example.

The Turkish SunExpress airline is a low-cost airline owned by Lufthansa and Turkish Airlines. The company has previously operated charter flights from Finland. SunExpress uses Boeing 737 aircraft in the Izmir connections.
