Currency exchange is now available 24/7 at Helsinki Airport, as ChangeGroup brings new multicurrency ATMs to the airport. The service supports Finavia's ongoing service renewal and investments for developing the airport's passenger path.

A minimum of 12 ATMs will be installed in the airport. They can be used to withdraw currencies most commonly exchanged in Finland, such as US dollars, British pounds, Swedish krona, Danish krone as well as Euros.

Helsinki Airport will receive one of ChangeGroup’s first ATM Networks with multi currency capability.

- The currency exchange machines will help to expand the service range: passengers can choose whether to exchange currency at the service outlet or use a self-service machine. We want to provide options so everyone can choose their preferred way to do things. With the new self-service machines, customers can exchange currency at the airport 24/7, even during the quieter periods, says Jukka Isomäki, Vice President at Finavia.

Currency exchange ATMs can also be used as cash withdrawal ATMs.

ChangeGroup is a leading currency exchange service provider, serving international traveller worldwide with over a hundred branches in 12 countries. The company is expanding its operations particularly in European and North American airports.

- Helsinki Airport is implementing a massive reform, and we are excited to participate in the development of the airport's services. We are happy to be able to expand our services providing foreign currency and euro ATMs in addition to our existing foreign currency bureaus to a growing number of passengers, says Paul Meehan, Director of ChangeGroup ATMs.

Making travelling as smooth as possible

Finavia invests in the development of Helsinki Airport's passenger path and digital services. The goal is to make travelling as easy and smooth as possible – from the parking lot all the way to the departure gate into the aircraft.

In addition, Helsinki Airport is going through a major service overhaul. 70 new or renewed shops and restaurants, will arrive at the airport.

Finavia has commenced an extensive development programme at Helsinki Airport, aiming of increasing the transfer capacity of Helsinki Airport to serve 20 million annual passengers in 2020.
