The services available to travellers at Helsinki Airport are due to receive an additional boost with the launch of Finnish eTaxfree Nordic Oy’s new service point. eTaxfree Nordic offers VAT refund services to passengers.

eTaxfree Nordic Oy is the first service provider to offer a completely electronic VAT refund process. The service is quick and efficient, as details of all purchases made in Finland are automatically linked with the customers’ passport details, eliminating the need for time-consuming paperwork.

Tax refunds are available to non-EU residents on their shopping in Finland. Any VAT paid will be refunded to them when they return to their home country.

The international tourism shopping refund company, Global Blue, already operates at Helsinki Airport. With the arrival of the new service provider, customers now have the opportunity to compare the services available and select the option best suited to them based on the price and service concept.

How eTaxfree works

Present all your purchases, including receipts, made at an eTaxfree authorised retailer along with your passport at the eTaxfree service point. If necessary, a member of staff will check your purchases and validate your tax free form.

After you have checked in, you can immediately claim your VAT refund in cash. For further information on eTaxfree’s services and for more detailed instructions, please visit the eTaxfree website.

The eTaxfree office can be found in the Terminal 2 check-in area and it is open daily 06:00 am to 11:00 pm.

The Global Blue service desks are located in arrivals hall 2B in Terminal 2 and adjacent to gate 29.
