An airport selfie is a travel tradition for many. But what’s the best place to take one?

You can’t beat the feeling of leaving for a vacation. As you arrive at the airport, you can already feel your spirits lifting and your mind racing with possibilities.

And why keep your enthusiasm to yourself? You can use the opportunity to make your friends jealous by sharing not just any selfie, but an airport selfie.

So head to these spots, strike your best pose and share, share, share:

The departure hall

The most enthusiastic photographers don’t need to wait until past the security check to snap their first selfie. In the departure hall you can catch your flight info in the background with your six-foot selfie stick.

In front of the Moomin Shop

For a solo traveller we recommend a group shot with these stone-faced cartoon celebrities. Snufkin and Moomin troll hang out in front of the Moomin Shop and are popular especially among Asian tourists.

The back patio of the Arctic Bar

Airplane enthusiasts will appreciate this place at the Artic Bar as it gives probably the best striking distance to snap a pic with a real aircraft. It’s also one of the only outdoor spots at the airport, so you can feel the fresh breeze on your face as you pose.

Oak Barrel

For Finns, this place is by far one of the most iconic social media locations in existence. With more than 60 000 log-ins on its Facebook page, the Barrel is the place to switch into travel mode. It’s also one of the few pubs where you can safely drink a pint at 9 am without attracting any pity glances from strangers.
