Air traffic at Oulu Airport starts again at the beginning of August. Night-time restrictions will continue until 13 August, affecting the first and last flight of the day.

The major phase of the traffic area repairs carried out at Oulu Airport during the summer has now been completed. In spite of the large size of the site, the repairs have been carried out without problems and on schedule.

From 1 to 13 August, the repairs will still affect the first (Oulu-Helsinki) and last (Helsinki-Oulu) flight of the day; they will be flown from and to Tornio Airport. Free bus transport from and to Oulu Airport is available for these flights. You can book this transport using the form available at Finavia’s website.

“During the summer, the runway, taxiways and the apron in Oulu have been resurfaced. At the same time, the illumination system has been reformed and the taxiways upgraded in order to provide better facilities for wide-bodied planes. Finishing touches will take place during the first weeks of August, but traffic is not expected to be affected after 13 August,” says Liisa Sallinen, Manager of Oulu Airport.

The repairs of the traffic areas in Oulu constitute Finavia's largest single investment in regional airports in 2017. Oulu airport has the second-largest passenger volume in Finland.
