By supporting girls’ wellbeing, Finavia wants to build a more equal world.

In this year’s Christmas campaign, Finavia supports Plan International’s work for girls in developing countries. The funds collected in the campaign will be used for children’s education, health, safety and hygiene.

The campaign video celebrates Christmas with Mrs. Claus, supporting girls’ opportunities to pursue their dreams.

“Girls deserve to have an equal right to pursue their dreams and live their best lives. Girls’ education builds a world that is fairer, and it offers one of the best tools to break the cycle of generational poverty,” says Account Manager Donata Pennanen of Plan Finland's corporate cooperation team.

“Especially in our time, it is important to find the funds for educating girls. We want to lead by example, and also offer passengers an easy way to support a good cause,” says Finavia’s Head of Marketing Anna Tuomi.

At several Finavia airports, passengers can make donations in any currency to the green Plan Pastille collection receptacles. During Christmas time, receptacles are also found by the gift-wrapping desks at Helsinki Airport.

“Many travellers have leftover currency that they have no use for after their trip. Together, small donations can have a large impact,” Tuomi says.

Finavia has supported the work of Plan International, the development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights, for ten years. In addition to donation receptacles and campaigns, the deposit money from empty bottles and cans left at the security control is donated for Plan all year round, for example.

“We are grateful for our partnership with Finavia. The collaboration that started at Helsinki Airport has evolved, and now includes Finavia staff and other airports in Finland,” Donata Pennanen says.

The Christmas campaign with Mrs. Claus is the first larger campaign Finavia does in collaboration with Plan Finland. The campaign video has been created by TBWA Helsinki and Cocoa Productions.

Here’s where you can donate for Plan at the airport:

  • The green Plan Pastille donation receptacles can be found at Helsinki, Oulu, Vaasa, Rovaniemi and Kokkola-Pietarsaari Airports.
  • At Helsinki Airport, the Pastilles are located after the security control at gates 13, 19, 26 and 33, and in arrivals hall 2B in Terminal T2.
  • During Christmas time, donation receptacles can also be found by the gift-wrapping desks at Helsinki Airport, located at gates 28 and 32A until 24 December.
  • In addition, passengers can leave their empty bottles and cans at security control, for which the deposit money is donated for Plan all year round.
